Lennie Squires of the Lee County Autism Resource & Advocacy presented the program to the Auburn Civitan Club on October 17, 2014, at the Auburn University Club. This organization offers resources, workshops and support for families affected by autism spectrum disorders in Lee County, Alabama.

Their purpose is to join with educators, business professionals and parents to bring the communities in Lee County to a better understanding of ASD’s and how families are affected.

ASD is a developmental disability that can affect all racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic groups and can range from gifted to severely challenged. According to the Center for Disease Control, about 1 in 68 children are identified with ASD.
