Smoked Turkeys and Hams for Thanksgiving

Turkeys being smoked.

Auburn Civitans smoked about 200 turkeys and hams November 17–18 for the biggest fund-raiser of the year. This project has supported our service projects and charities ever since 1968.

Over a dozen turkeys and hams were donated to the Community Market, a program of the Food Bank of East Alabama. The Civitans support this program and the Food Bank throughout the year.

Eloise Kelly and her family visited with the Auburn Civitans on November 13 to share her week at Camp ASCCA.

Her mother, Searcy, said that Eloise had a great time with all of the activities offered and had a great counselor, Marianna.

The Auburn Civitans sponsor one or two campers each year and enjoy being able to help these great kids and their families experience a great time.

Here is a YouTube video showing some of the fun stuff going on at Camp ASCCA.

Flags fly in downtown Auburn for Veterans Day(s)

Opelika Rd. 2017-11-11

The Civitans had flags flying in downtown Auburn for Veterans Day 2018. Since November 11 was on a Sunday, the City’s official observance was on Monday. We had the flags up Sunday morning through Monday afternoon.

The flag display is a project of the Auburn Civitan Club, the Auburn Downtown Merchants, and the City of Auburn. Flags have been flying since 1965.
