American flags were flying in Auburn for a week in May. The flags were put up Tuesday May 21, 2019 to honor Auburn Police Officer William (Will) Ray Buechner, Jr, who was killed on duty. The flags remained up all week until the evening of Memorial Day, May 27.

Officer Buechner was fatally wounded Sunday, May 19. His funeral was held Friday, May 25.
